Caribou County Arrest News and Mugshots

Local crime coverage in Caribou County comes from a handful of outlets. The Caribou County News, East Idaho News, SVI News, and the Sheriff's office each publish on their own schedule. One may run a press release. Another waits on an incident report. That pace means news stories work best as leads, not as a full arrest record. A name in print tells you a booking happened, nothing more. For details, turn to official channels. A records request or an agency release can produce an Idaho booking photo, and from there the trail leads to the booking file and the iCourt case.

Where Caribou County Arrest News Appears

Where do you look first? The arrest-news trail splits between official pages, local reporting, and the courts. Start at the Caribou County hub, which points to the current Sheriff domain. From there, the Sheriff posts latest news and press releases as agency information pages. A few statewide directories still list older county URLs. Use the current county link instead.

The official pages carry no public jail roster, no same-day booking stream, and no booking-photo gallery. Caribou County News is the strongest local outlet. Its traffic-stop story shows how agency attribution and custody context look in practice. East Idaho News and SVI News round out the regional picture. Neither one keeps a full Caribou booking section, though.

Caribou County Outlets at a Glance

Start with the official rows. Media rows show what a dated article can add. The final rows serve as secondary index checks only. Keep in mind that none of these sources counts as an official Caribou County jail roster.

Outlet or source Coverage Photos? Where it helps
Caribou County Sheriff latest news and press releases Official incident and public-information releases No routine booking-photo feed confirmed Agency wording, dates, and attribution
Caribou County News Local incidents, Sheriff statements, directory information, and follow-up Images may show a scene or supplied source, not a booking photo Dated narrative and agency links
East Idaho News Regional Caribou incidents, including Bancroft coverage No confirmed booking section or full photo archive Regional event context
SVI News Regional stories that republish releases or photo attribution A sourced incident photo is not a booking image Cross-checking a release
RecentlyBooked Caribou County Unofficial local index with a rolling 30-day window Page says the county does not provide images Lead only, never proof of custody or disposition
Mugshots.com Caribou County Historical category, not a current feed Do not copy or rehost any face or record Historical context only, not current bookings
BustedNewspaper Idaho index, Arrests.org Idaho, and Mugshots.zone No Caribou section in the checked menus No local photo coverage can be claimed Absence finding only, not proof of no arrest

Note: Official incident releases and local articles supply context, not a complete list of Caribou County bookings.

How Caribou Booking Photos Reach News

How do booking photos reach the news? A few routes exist. An agency may release one. A reporter may ask the agency directly. Someone may also file a public-records request. The Sheriff's form wants a detailed description, contact information, a delivery preference, and an electronic signature. Its own example shows a request for a report and photos by incident number, or by date, time, and type. Precision matters here.

The form publishes no booking-photo policy, fee table, or guaranteed response window. The detention page lists the jail address and booking desk, but no person-level booking dates, charges, release dates, or photos. So ask three things: whether a photo exists, which agency holds it, and what provision covers redaction or withholding. Idaho's current public-records framework sits in Idaho Code §74-102 and §74-103. Older citations printed on the Sheriff form are a version question worth confirming with the custodian.

Photo provenance matters. A photo in an article may show a scene, vehicle, official, or source-supplied image. It is not automatically a booking photo. No face is displayed or rehosted in the article.

Note: A news image’s source and caption matter because scene or supplied images are not booking photos.

From Caribou News to Court Record

A news article earns its keep when it preserves the event date, the agency involved, and the exact procedural wording. Keep each record in its own lane. A jail record speaks to booking and custody. A court record speaks to a filed case. A news story, in turn, captures only the public account of what happened.

  1. Save the story and date. Record the URL, publication and update dates, and whether it says arrested, booked, charged, or according to officials.
  2. Confirm place and agency. Decide whether the event was in Soda Springs, Grace, Bancroft, elsewhere in the county, or another county. Sheriff patrol serves the three named cities, while Soda Springs also has a listed police department.
  3. Check custody through the official path. The detention page has no public roster. Use booking at (208) 547-3094 or the Sheriff form for a specific booking, release, transfer, or photo question. The county-wide record guide explains the official channels.
  4. Search Idaho iCourt. Use the Idaho iCourt Portal with the full name, county, and date range. Confirm the case number and compare filed wording with the story. Sealed, exempt, juvenile, or not-yet-filed matters may not appear.
  5. Follow the case to disposition. Check hearings, amended filings, and public status. A booking date and filing date can differ, and an iCourt result does not prove current custody.
  6. Route later custody correctly. For state custody or supervision, use the Idaho Department of Correction search. IDOC and third-party indexes are not Caribou booking-photo sources.

What the Caribou Sheriff News Shows

The Sheriff's news pages are the closest thing to an official incident feed. They are not a daily booking log. Expect agency statements and public-safety updates there, not every arrest, every jail resident, or booking photos. The detention page describes services at a 49-bed facility, not a searchable list of people.

There is no Sheriff-branded app or stable booking feed on social media. The Sheriff links to Caribou County ALERTS for emergencies and VINELink for custody and victim notifications. Neither one is a mugshot gallery. For routine questions, call main at (208) 547-2561, booking at (208) 547-3094, or dispatch at (208) 547-2563.

Caribou County Aggregate Arrest Data

Want hard numbers? The official 2025 Idaho NIBRS Caribou County report offers a statistical frame. It is not a booking count. The county-total page lists a population field of 8,202. It also shows 146 reported Group A offenses and 107 cleared offenses. Arrests totaled 227, split between 225 adults and 2 juveniles. Soda Springs Police Department reported 143 arrests. Of those, 142 were adults and one was a juvenile.

2025 NIBRS item Reported figure What it does not show
Caribou County total arrests 227, with 225 adults and 2 juveniles Unique people, jail admissions, faces, or current detainees
County Group A offenses 146 reported, 107 cleared A one-to-one match with arrests, bookings, or court outcomes
Soda Springs Police arrests 143, with 142 adults and 1 juvenile All county arrests or a city jail roster

These figures are reporting-year categories, not unique people. An offense, a clearance, an arrest, a booking, and a jail admission all count different things, and a single event can carry several charges. Treat this as one year, not a trend. The Arrest Distribution Report supports aggregate filters only, not person-level booking photos. The newspaper's 1993 figures stand apart as historical context.

Note: Aggregate arrest statistics measure reports, not unique people, jail admissions, or current custody.

Third-Party Caribou Index Caveats

Treat third-party indexes as leads, nothing more. They sit behind the official sources for good reason. Counts, date windows, fields, and access rules can all shift without warning. A page calling itself a "recent arrests" or "mugshots" index is still not an official roster. A listing that vanishes tells you nothing about the case behind it.

One index stands out locally. The RecentlyBooked Caribou County index shows a rolling last-30-days window and posts several updates a day. Its displayed number moves around. That means it is not an official total or a count of unique people. The page also states that Caribou County does not supply booking photos. A no-charge correction policy covers dismissed, sealed or expunged, incorrect, wrong-person, juvenile, and duplicate records, with documents where needed. That is a publisher policy, not a statement of Idaho law. The linked page documents an index type and its placeholder layout. It is not a person-level record.

A rolling page like this changes fast. A booking, a correction, or a window expiring can alter what appears. None of its fields confirm current custody or a court outcome.

For corrections, the RecentlyBooked correction policy page is a separate publisher document. It lays out a free request route. It asks for the page URL, the name, the arrest date, the county, a reason, and supporting documents when applicable.

That policy can only fix a listing on the publisher's site. It cannot touch a Sheriff record. It cannot touch an Idaho court file either. So before relying on any correction, confirm the underlying record with both the custodian and the court.

Mugshots.com’s Idaho index links to a historical Caribou County category. That category shows a count of 33. The local page loads unevenly, though, and no daily or 30-day update rhythm is confirmed. Read it as historical index context only. It is not a current custody list. It is not a booking total. It does not prove where a photo came from.

The state index is just a navigation page. No faces appear there. No individual records appear either. It is not a current Caribou roster.

The Mugshots.com record-maintenance policy describes a free publisher process for specific situations. Those cover expungement, sealing, no information, restriction, identity theft, and death. Documentation is required, plus a site record identifier. The process allows up to ten business days. It promises nothing. Treat it as a publisher process only.

The other named indexes come up empty for Caribou. The BustedNewspaper Idaho page does not list the county. Neither does the Arrests.org Idaho county menu, and Mugshots.zone shows no Idaho or Caribou section in its network menu. An absence on a listing page is not proof that no arrest occurred. Do not swap in a neighboring county, invent a local URL, or claim a correction route the page itself does not publish.

Note: Unofficial index windows can change without notice and cannot establish a Caribou County disposition.

What Caribou News Can Establish

A careful arrest-news note can do a few things well. It can show that a named outlet published a dated account, that an agency supplied or was quoted in a release, and that a story used a particular procedural term. It can point you to the right custodian. What it cannot do is turn a newspaper archive into a jail roster, or turn a third-party index into an official record.

Start with the current Sheriff and county links. Then check the booking desk or records form, iCourt, and the agency that handled the event. For city routing, Soda Springs has its own police department and public-information form, while the Sheriff states its patrol covers Grace and Bancroft. The Soda Springs Busted Mugshots page covers that split, since one county jail may receive records from more than one agency.

Use Caribou County News for local narrative, East Idaho News and SVI News for regional context, and Sheriff releases for the originating agency's own words. Keep the source date. Preserve the wording. Look for the public court disposition. That path is slower than trusting every search result, but it keeps arrest news, booking records, and court outcomes distinct.
